ooh how strange seeing my *growed up* name on your blog!

It's a really lovely growed up name!

I do understand how weird it can seem when someone uses your full name in a weird place. If someone pronounces my name in a certain way that reminds me of my Physics teacher, the only thing I can think of, even now, is "I don't know the answer!"

Oh yes...is yours Polish?

Isn't it Karl-otter?

Carlotta said...

Yes, unless you are stressing the "otter" in a particularly Oxford English sort of a way, which comes out as horrendously disparaging/contemptuous.

LOL! I don't think I can an Oxford accents. I actually say it like in Portuguese.

Well, originally my mother thought it was a mispelling of the greek Tecla, but as it was the middle name of the irish family friend who delivered me, then I think it's most likely to be from St Techla, and of eastern european origin. I spoke to a woman once who said that it was a popular Ukrainian name.

LOL at the physics teacher. I'm always so surprised when someone manages to pronounce mine properly, that I almost go into shock on the spot!
