Still Learning!

Have just spent a rather peculiar evening proof-reading brother-in-law's economics dissertation (all 94 pages of it), so I now know more about principal-agent theory and the Enron problem than I am ever likely to know ever again; so go on, bring it on -- any questions?

OK, so I couldn't fully get to grips with his graphs, but I shall be sorely peeved if he doesn't get a first for his semi-colon placement.

    I meant more like, "Mummy, where does money come from?"

    You know, in the first place. And how does it work?

    Also, how does property work? Say, land. Is it a matter of whoever was there first with a big enough fence and flag?

    I hope you've an idea of what I'm trying to ask. I certainly don't. But I might have later.

  4. Over the last 60 years, despite significant improvements, universal elementary education has remained a distant dream. Even with high enrolment rates of approximately 95% as per the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER 2009), 52.8% of children studying in 5th grade lack reading skills expected in 2nd grade. To change this, elementary education was made a fundamental right in 2002 and the enabling Act was passed by the Parliament in August 2009, but was not notified for 7 months. The delay in notification can be mostly attributed to unresolved financial negotiations. Previous estimates for additional funds were more than halved...
