Unschoolers Tell their Literacy Stories
Just had a smile, a laugh and a cathartic cry over the stories here: stories of how children came to be reading in their own good time ie: proper personalised learning, appropriate for their age, ability and aptitude.
Thanks for the link. I have 4 year old who wants to read but isn't quite there. I have had people thell me he can read because he can "read" the Costco sign or recite a book mostly word for word. I don't want to pressure him (he already pressures himself) but it isn't reading unless it is a new piece tha he can read. This just makes me feel a little better about not making the big push.
