Come On, Own Up!

Which group of you home educators are managing to stay well dressed? I thought the one defining feature of home educators was that they didn't give a monkeys that they have to run around covered in baby sick and paint. Tell me otherwise, or I shall have to conclude that Mr. Finn has been dreaming.

I can manage clean and no obvious rips or holes with a little effort but I don't think I could ever be mistaken for "smartly dressed ".

  4. I know some very glamorous home educators in West London, who have managed to perfect the "just got out of bed" look to a T. The trick seems to be husband's pyjamas, covered up with a grungy-style coat, tousled hair covered with last year's Joseph skull cap. All acompanied by plenty of anti-fashionista remarks. Works a treat.

Yes, if you don't look like you just got out of bed you are clearly spending too much of your life ironing clothes

Oh we have an iron, but I only use it on dd's stuff. Now SHE has stylish clothes! I think she gets the desire to dress up nice from her paternal grandmother, it sure as heck isn't from me.

  10. i am perfectly groomed, and have astonishingly good dress sense. of course we have to maintain these high standards to set an example to our youngsters. even as i sit here i am wearing an old tea towel and a pair of bed socks. a pair, note! and matching!

Dress code for activities should be appropriate for the occasion. In order to preserve an atmosphere of integrity, respect and to insure an experience free of distractions.
