Arch's Privacy Guide for Parents and Children

...can be found here. The title is ironic, it seems.

Anyone know what Trident is? the LA draft EHE policy here says "the Connexions Service and Trident are notified, termly, of home educated children in national curriculum years 9, 10 and 11."

I'd also like to know how the Section 117 Learning and Skills Act 2000 opt-out applies to HE children. Can we totally opt out insisting that the LA provide NO information at all?

@anonymous: the LA isn't under a duty to supply information about HE children (or any children) but it "may" do so. This means it's up to each LA. When my sons were younger, I found they weren't registered on the local system at all, so I presume our LA has decided not to send it automatically - but Connexions is pretty dead in this area anyway. YS says that they have an office in his 6th form college but nobody is ever there!
