Case Law: Regina v Secretary of State for Education ex parte Talmud Torah Machzikei Hadass; 12 Apr 1985

 For the record, a link to Woolf's ruling: 

Woolf J said: ‘education is ‘suitable’ if it primarily equips a child for life within the community of which he is a member, rather than the way of life in the country as a whole, as long as it does not foreclose the child’s options in later years to adopt some other form of life if he wishes to do so.’

Having won a reprieve during the last Labour administration, the Home Education lobby will no doubt be preparing for a fight after Ms Morgan signalled that she would like more “regulation” around where children go when they are withdrawn from mainstream education. It was an area of “concern”, the education secretary said.
