Blogdial has plenty of sensible (mostly outraged) things to say about the proposed guidelines for LAs with regard to identifying Children Missing from Education. For example:
"It is not the place of the state to determine what is or is not a suitable education. It is not the place of the state to say what is or is not an efficient education, and neither is it their place to mandate full-time education."
I think he makes a mistake as regards the issue of guidance, which I had understood to represent legal requirements and are therefore different from guidelines which are merely optional prompts. He's right though that home educators should stand together to resist this drip-drip erosion of our duties as parents.
